Specialty Networks $2.6M Data Breach Settlement: How to Claim Payment

Specialty Networks LLC and Prime Imaging LLC have agreed to pay $2.6 million to settle a class action lawsuit connected to a 2023 data breach. The incident allegedly exposed sensitive personal and medical information of nearly 400,000 individuals. Consumers who received a notice about the breach may qualify for settlement benefits, including payments of up to $5,000 and free credit monitoring.

This guide covers who qualifies, how much you can claim, the deadlines to keep in mind, and how to submit your claim.

Who Qualifies for the Settlement?

Class members include individuals identified by Specialty Networks as potentially affected by the December 18, 2023, data breach. Notices were mailed to about 395,866 people and sent by substitute notice to an additional 12,234 individuals whose addresses were unavailable.

If you received a settlement notice, you are considered part of the class and may be eligible to claim compensation.

How Much Is the Specialty Networks Payout?

The settlement provides several options for class members:

  • Cash Payment A – Documented Losses: Up to $5,000 for documented, unreimbursed losses directly tied to the data breach. Documentation may include receipts, bills, or other official records.
  • Cash Payment B – Flat Payment: Around $100 per person for those who prefer not to submit documentation.
  • Credit Monitoring: Up to three years of free credit monitoring valued at $110 per person.

All payments are subject to pro rata adjustment. This means that if fewer claims are filed, payouts may increase. If more valid claims are filed than expected, payouts could be reduced proportionally.

How to File a Claim

Eligible class members can submit a claim in two ways:

  1. Online: Complete the claim form on the settlement website.
  2. By Mail: Download, print, and mail the PDF claim form to the settlement administrator at:

Why Is There a Settlement?

The lawsuit alleged that Specialty Networks failed to safeguard sensitive personal and medical data during a December 2023 data security incident. The compromised information included:

  • Names
  • Dates of birth
  • Social Security numbers
  • Driver’s license numbers
  • Medical record numbers
  • Treatment details and diagnoses
  • Medications
  • Health insurance information

Specialty Networks denied wrongdoing but agreed to the $2.6 million class action settlement to avoid the risks and costs of ongoing litigation. As part of the agreement, the company will also implement enhanced cybersecurity measures for at least three years.
