$1,000 Stimulus Payment: What To Do If Your Payment Is Delayed or Missing

Colorado Stimulus Check

The $1,000 stimulus payment tied to the Alaska Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD) is being issued today, Thursday, November 20, 2025. While many residents are receiving deposits, thousands are reporting delays, routing issues, missing checks, and mail disruptions linked to recent flooding.

Residents who expected today’s payment but have not received it can resolve most problems by reviewing their PFD status and updating their information through official channels.

Who Should Receive the $1,000 Payment Today

Payments are going out to applicants whose PFD accounts displayed “Eligible-Unpaid” on or before November 12. Direct deposits arrive first, followed by paper checks.

Residents with status updates after that date will be included in the December 18 or January 15 batches.

Why Some Payments Are Delayed

Several issues are affecting today’s distribution:

  • Incorrect or outdated bank account details
  • Closed or inaccessible post offices in flood-damaged areas
  • PFD accounts pending verification
  • Recent address changes not yet processed
  • Returned or undeliverable paper checks
  • Flood-related displacement preventing mail access

Any of these can prevent a deposit or delay a mailed check.

How To Check Your Payment Status

Residents should log in to the myPFD portal and confirm their current status:

  • Eligible – Unpaid: Payment approved, still processing
  • Eligible – Payment Sent: Deposit or check already issued
  • Action Required: Information missing or unverifiable
  • Under Review: Application still being processed

If your status shows Action Required or Under Review, payment will not be released until the issue is resolved.

If Your Direct Deposit Has Not Arrived

A missing deposit often points to:

  • Wrong account number
  • Incorrect routing number
  • Closed bank account
  • Deposit rejection by the bank

The payment may be reprocessed or converted into a paper check.

Updating bank details inside myPFD prevents repeat failures.

If You Were Displaced by Flooding

Flooding from Typhoon Halong has disrupted mail delivery in several communities. Residents housed in Anchorage shelters can pick up PFD mail at:

Egan Center Mail Unit
555 West 5th Avenue

Those who relocated elsewhere must manually redirect their checks.

Request redirection by emailing:
dor.pfd.payments@alaska.gov

Include your name, PFD application number, old address, new address, and identification if asked.

Post Offices Temporarily Closed

Paper checks will not arrive in areas where postal operations remain suspended, including:

  • Kipnuk
  • Kwigillingok
  • Napakiak

Residents in these communities should redirect their mail to an accessible location.

Verification Delays

Applications requiring identity checks or documentation will remain unpaid until verification is complete. Common triggers include changes to legal name, birthdate inconsistencies, and Social Security number mismatches.

Uploading the requested documents immediately shortens the delay.

Next Payment Dates

Residents not included in today’s payment will receive the $1,000 in one of the scheduled releases:

  • December 18, 2025
  • January 15, 2026

Eligibility depends on when the status changes to Eligible – Unpaid.
