Briefly About the Programme

The University of Cape Coast, Ghana through the Institute of Education has in collaboration with the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), introduced and runs a 3 Semester Bachelor’s Degree programme in the sandwich mode.

This is a 3 Semester Bachelor of Education (Post-Diploma in Basic Education) programme which seeks to help undergraduates (holders of Diploma in Basic Education), acquire a bachelor’s degree in Basic Education.

The programme runs for three long vacations with eight weeks in each session. This means that the programme is ran during vacations and you don’t need a study leave to pursue this programme.

Online teaching and learning will be adopted to aid the face-to-face interactions in most cases to help students complete the course outline in time.

Programmes Offered

The programmes offered for the 3 Semester Bachelor of Education Sandwich Programme include:

• Bachelor of Education (B. Ed) Early Childhood Education
• Bachelor of Education (B. Ed) Primary Education
• Bachelor of Education (B. Ed) Junior High School Education

The programmes offered under the Primary and Junior High School Education include Mathematics, Science, English Language, Social Studies, ICT, Religious and Moral Education, Agricultural Science, Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Physical Education and Ghanaian Language.

For JHS only, the programmes include Home Economics, French and Mathematics and Science.

Eligibility

Who is eligible to pursue this programme? Unfortunately, this programme is not opened to all. Remember the programme has been introduced to aid undergraduate teachers who are willing to obtain a bachelor’s degree. Hence only those who have passed and acquired the Diploma in Basic Education (DBE) certificate from any of the accredited institutions, are eligible to enrol onto this programme.

Eligible applicants who are willing to enrol onto this programme can purchase the E-Voucher at any of these sales centres below and proceed to access the registration form online.

• The Accra Office of the University of Cape Coast, Tesano
• Ghana Post Company Limited (Regional and District Capitals)
• All Network Branches of GCB Bank Nationwide
• All Network Branches of ADB Bank Nationwide

• All Network Branches of ARB Bank Nationwide
• All Network Branches of GT Bank, Republic Bank, Zenith Bank, Prudential Bank and NIB Bank Nationwide.

Note that the cost of the application E-Voucher currently stands at GHs 220.00

The Online Application

After the E-Voucher purchase, applicants are supposed to visit topup.ucc.edu.gh to access the registration form online. Under ‘’Application Process’’, the applicant should select ‘’click to apply for a programme’’ for further instructions.

All applicants are advised to select study centres that offer their choice of programmes and electives.

It is important to note that applicants who are visually impaired can select only Presbyterian College of Education, Akropong as their study centre.

Fees cover Tuition, Accommodation and Feeding.
