Duration of Programmes

Programme durations vary based on the level and type of study:

  • PGDE: 1 year (2 semesters)
  • M.Ed and MA: 1 year (coursework only)
  • M.Ed, MA, and MSc in Arts and Social Sciences: 1.5 years (2 semesters coursework + 1 semester dissertation)
  • MBA: 2 years (3 semesters coursework + 1 semester dissertation)
  • MSc Business: 1.5 years (2 semesters coursework + 1 semester dissertation)

Entry Requirements

Applicants must hold a first degree from a recognized university or equivalent institution in a relevant field. In addition:

Education Programmes

  • PGDE: Degree holders without an education background currently teaching.
  • M.Ed Social Studies: B.Ed Social Studies or related with Social Studies as major.
  • M.Ed Mathematics Education: B.Ed Mathematics or related with Statistics background.
  • M.Ed Arts Education: B.Ed Arts or related with English major.
  • Other M.Ed programmes require relevant B.Ed degrees or related disciplines.

Arts and Social Sciences

  • MA Sociology of Peace and Security: BA/BSc/B.Ed with at least Second Class Lower.
  • MSc Microfinance, Economics, etc.: First degree in Economics or related field with quantitative background.

Business Programmes

  • MBA: First degree or final professional certificates from ICAG, ACCA, CIMA, CIB, CIM, etc.
  • MSc Business: Professional qualification holders and at least three years work experience for Procurement and Supply Chain Management.

  2. Visit https://apply.ucc.edu.gh/.
  3. Click on “CLICK TO APPLY FOR PROGRAMME” under the Application Process section.
  4. Select “Post-Graduate Entry” on the verification screen.
  5. Use the pin and serial number to complete the application online.
  6. Print out the EMS envelope cover and include:
    • Application reference number
    • Full names
    • Contact details
  7. Submit the hard copy to the appropriate study centre.

    I would like to do either distance or sandwich for my Degree, please advise

    1. All you have to do is to apply, you can choose between distance and sandwich depending on your schedule and current work, sandwich programs usually fall withing vacations of government public schools, so it may be ideal. the UEW undergraduate forms are currently on sale as well.
