$1,000 Stimulus Payment in Pennsylvania: Who Qualifies and How to Apply

$1,000 Stimulus Payment in Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania residents could soon see an extra boost to their finances through a stimulus-style rebate of up to $1,000. This payment comes as part of the Property Tax and Rent Rebate (PTRR) Program, a state initiative designed to help older adults, widows, and people with disabilities manage the rising cost of living.

Expansion of the PTRR Program

The PTRR Program has been around for years, providing financial relief to residents struggling with property taxes or rent. Under Act 7 of 2023, signed by Governor Josh Shapiro, the program was expanded to include an additional 175,000 Pennsylvanians. This expansion allows more low- and moderate-income households to qualify for rebates this year.

The program provides a sliding scale of relief based on annual income. Those with the lowest earnings receive the full $1,000 rebate, while others qualify for smaller payments depending on their income bracket.
