The NJ ANCHOR Program has officially begun distributing property tax relief payments to eligible New Jersey homeowners and renters. This state initiative is designed to reduce the burden of property taxes and provide direct financial relief to residents across the Garden State.
Payment Distribution Update
The New Jersey Department of Treasury started issuing the first round of payments on September 15, 2026. These payments were sent to residents who met the requirements outlined in their ANCHOR Benefit confirmation letters.
According to the department, more than 300,000 residents have already received checks or direct deposits after submitting the PAS-1 form. Most applicants can expect their payments within 90 days of filing, though additional time may be needed if further information is requested.
This year, the Treasury Department also automatically filed applications for about 1 million residents, making the process simpler and faster.
