List of Retirees Who Will and Will Not Receive Social Security Payments Today, Wednesday, August 20, 2026

DWP PIP Claimants Could See Payments Rise to Nearly £800 in 2025

Social Security benefits remain one of the most important sources of income for millions of retirees, people with disabilities, and family members of eligible workers across the United States. These monthly payments are designed to provide financial stability, helping beneficiaries cover everyday expenses and live with greater peace of mind.

Payments are distributed on a strict monthly schedule based on the retiree’s date of birth. Staying informed about these dates is critical so you never miss your benefits.

Who Is Eligible to Receive Social Security Benefits?

The Social Security Administration (SSA) provides payments to several groups, including:

  • Retirees – Individuals who worked and paid Social Security taxes throughout their careers.
  • People with disabilities – Those unable to work due to a qualifying disability.
  • Family members of beneficiaries – Spouses, children, or survivors of retired, disabled, or deceased workers may also qualify.

According to the August 2026 Social Security payment schedule, today’s payments are reserved for the following group:

  • Retirees who started receiving benefits after May 1997
  • Born between the 11th and 20th of any month

Who Will Not Receive Payment on Wednesday, August 20?

Not everyone is included in today’s round. If you fall outside the above group, your payment date will differ.

  • Retirees born between the 21st and 31st will receive their benefits on Wednesday, August 27, 2026.

The SSA releases an official payment calendar each year so beneficiaries know exactly when to expect their checks or deposits. Keeping track of these dates ensures there are no surprises and helps with budgeting throughout the month.
