Subaru has agreed to a class action settlement over alleged defects in its EyeSight driver assistance system, which is installed in several Subaru models from 2013 through 2026. The lawsuit claims the system’s pre-collision braking, rear automatic braking, and lane-keeping assist features may not work as advertised, potentially putting drivers at risk.
Although Subaru denies any wrongdoing, the company reached a settlement that provides warranty extensions and reimbursement for repair costs to eligible vehicle owners and lessees.
Who Is Eligible For Subaru EyeSight Settlement?
The Subaru EyeSight settlement applies to current and former owners or lessees of the following Subaru vehicles equipped with EyeSight between 2013 and 2026:

- Outback
- Impreza
- Crosstrek
- Forester
- Ascent
- WRX
- BRZ

Eligible class members can receive two main benefits:
- Warranty Extension:
Subaru will extend the New Vehicle Limited Warranty to cover 75% of the cost of repairs for issues related to pre-collision braking, rear automatic braking, and lane-keeping assist.- The extension lasts four years or 48,000 miles, whichever comes first.
- If the original warranty expired before July 29, 2026, the extension will last for four months after that date.
- Reimbursement for Repairs:
If you already paid out of pocket for repairs tied to these EyeSight issues, you may be eligible for 75% reimbursement for one repair. To claim reimbursement, you’ll need to submit proof of payment and supporting documentation.
