Millions of AT&T customers may soon receive compensation as part of a massive $177 million AT&T lawsuit settlement. If your personal information was exposed in recent data breaches linked to AT&T, you could qualify for a payout of up to $7,500.
Why is AT&T paying a settlement?
The settlement stems from two major data breaches:
- March 2026 breach – impacted 73 million current and former AT&T customers. Sensitive data, including birth dates and Social Security numbers, was leaked on the dark web.
- July 2026 breach – hackers accessed AT&T data from a third-party cloud service. This included records of calls and texts from nearly all AT&T cellular customers.
Multiple lawsuits followed, and they were eventually consolidated into two class action cases. A federal judge has now approved a proposed AT&T lawsuit settlement worth $177 million.
- $149 million is allocated to victims of the first breach.
- $28 million is reserved for those affected by the second breach.
The settlement is still pending final approval. A hearing is scheduled for December 3, 2026 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas.

You may qualify if your data was compromised in either of the two breaches—or both.
- Notices are being emailed to eligible customers. Look out for emails from attsettlement@e.emailksa.com.
- The settlement is being handled by Kroll Settlement Administration.
- If you’re unsure about eligibility, you can call the settlement administrator at (833) 890-4930 for confirmation.
How to file a claim
If you were affected, you must submit a claim form by November 18, 2026.
- The claim form is available on the official settlement website.
- By filing, you waive your right to sue AT&T separately.
- You will need to provide documentation proving your financial losses were tied to the breaches.
How much money can customers get?
The payout depends on which breach exposed your data:
- Victims of the March 2026 breach may claim up to $5,000 for losses dating back to 2019.
- Victims of the July 2026 breach may claim up to $2,500 for losses on or after April 14, 2026.
- If you were impacted by both, you could receive up to $7,500 as an “overlap settlement class member.”
When will payments be sent?
Payments won’t arrive until after the court grants final approval. The earliest possible distribution would be December 2026, but appeals or processing delays could push payments further into 2026.
The settlement website notes: “It also takes time for all of the claim forms to be processed. Please be patient.”
