About the Programme
The University of Cape Coast (UCC), in collaboration with the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), offers a 3-Semester Bachelor of Education (Post-Diploma in Basic Education) programme. This initiative is designed to help holders of the Diploma in Basic Education (DBE) upgrade their qualifications to a Bachelor’s degree in Basic Education.
The programme is run over three long vacation periods, each lasting eight weeks. Classes are scheduled during school vacations, meaning participants do not have to take study leave to attend. Learning is delivered through a blend of face-to-face teaching and online sessions to ensure that all course content is covered effectively within the set period.

The 3-Semester Bachelor of Education Sandwich Programme offers the following specializations:
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) Early Childhood Education
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) Primary Education
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) Junior High School Education
For Primary and Junior High School Education, the available electives are: Mathematics, Science, English Language, Social Studies, ICT, Religious and Moral Education, Agricultural Science, Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Physical Education, and Ghanaian Language.
For Junior High School Education, additional electives include: Home Economics, French, Mathematics, and Science.
Eligibility
This programme is open to undergraduates who hold a Diploma in Basic Education (DBE) from an accredited institution. Only applicants with this qualification are eligible to apply.

Eligible candidates can purchase the E-Voucher for GH₵ 220.00 from the following outlets:

- Ghana Post Company Ltd (Regional and District Capitals)
- GCB Bank branches nationwide
- ADB Bank branches nationwide
- ARB Bank branches nationwide
- GT Bank, Republic Bank, Zenith Bank, Prudential Bank, and NIB Bank branches nationwide
After purchasing the E-Voucher, applicants should visit topup.ucc.edu.gh to complete the registration form. Under the “Application Process” section, click “Click to Apply for a Programme” and follow the instructions.
When applying, candidates must choose a study centre that offers their preferred programme and electives.
Special Note for Visually Impaired Applicants
Visually impaired applicants may only select the Presbyterian College of Education, Akropong, as their study centre.
Fees
The application fee covers tuition, accommodation, and feeding for the duration of the programme.
