The Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education (PRINCOF) invites applications from interested and qualified applicants for the 2024/2025 academic year.

Applications are invited into their Four-Year Bachelor of Education Programmes run by the 46 public Colleges of Education in Ghana.

Programmes Offered for the 2024/25 Academic Year.

Programmes offered by the 46 public colleges of education include

  1. Four-Year Bachelor of Education in Early Grade (Early Childhood) Education,
  2. Four-Year Bachelor of Education in Primary Education and
  3. Four-Year Bachelor of Education in Junior High School Education.

The 4-Year B.Ed. JHS programme offers applicants the opportunity to specialize in a particular subject area to enable them teach at the JHS level.

The subject areas include Science, Agricultural Science, Mathematics, ICT, Home Economics, Music, Visual Arts, Social Studies, Geography, History, English, Ghanaian Language (Asante-Twi, Akuapim-Twi, Dagaare, Dagbani, Dangme, Ewe, Fante, Ga, Gonja, Gurene, Kasem, Nzema), French, and Arabic.

Admission Requirements

WASSCE/SSSCE Holders

For WASSCE holders, applicants must have CREDIT PASSES (A1-C6) in six (6) subjects to qualify. These comprises three (3) Core subjects, including English Language, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science or Social Studies and three (3) Elective subjects relevant to the course of study.

For SSSCE holders, applicants must have CREDIT PASSES (A-D) in six (6) subjects comprising Three (3) Core subjects, including English Language, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science or Social Studies, and Three (3) Elective subjects relevant to the course of study to qualify.

Other qualifications include

  1. General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advance Level,
  2. Advanced Business Certificate Examination (ABCE),
  3. Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and
  4. Foreign Qualifications.

Admission Requirements for Impaired Applicants

Applicants with impairment are advised to select colleges which have facilities to cater for their individual needs.

VISUALLY IMPAIRED Applicants

Applicants should have Credit Passes (A1-C6) in two (2) CORE subjects including English Language and Social Studies and three (3) credit passes in relevant elective subjects in WASSCE.

SSSCE holders should have credit Passes (A-D) in two (2) CORE subjects including English Language and Social Studies and credit passes in three (3) elective subjects relevant to their choice of programme.

Facilities for Visually Impaired Applicants are available at the following colleges of education.

  • N.J. Ahmadiyya, College of Education, Wa 
  • Wesley College of Education, Kumasi
  • Presbyterian College of Education, Akropong

HEARING IMAIRED Applicants

WASSCE holders should have Credit passes (A1-C6) in three (3) CORE subjects including English Language, Mathematics, 4 Integrated Science or Social Studies, and credit passes in three (3) Elective subjects that are relevant to their programme choice.

SSSCE holders should have credit Passes (A-D) in three (3) CORE subjects including English Language and Mathematics and credit passes in three (3) Elective subjects relevant to their programme of choice.

How to Apply

Interested applicants are to purchase application forms at a cost of Three Hundred Ghana Cedis (GH¢ 300.00) using the procedures below.

  1. Applicants can make a payment into the Colleges of Education, Ghana Account at any branch of the Consolidated Bank, Ghana (CBG) Limited.
  2. Payments can also be made through the following mobile money wallets: Tigo Cash, Vodafone cash, Airtel Money, and MTN Mobile Money by dialing the short code *924*8# from all networks.

Upon successful payment, the applicant shall receive

A Personal Identification Number (PIN),

An Admission Application Serial Number and

The Admission Website Address.

Hence the applicant should procced to the College of Education Admissions Website at admission.coeportal.edu.gh and follow the procedure to complete the online application form.
