Black Sherif emerges winner of the VGMA artiste of the year

The 24th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) held on Saturday May 6th 2023, saw Black Sherif emerges winner of the VGMA artiste of the year. The event which was held at Accra International Conference Center was a night to remember as fans and music lovers enjoyed outstanding performances from their favourite artistes.

The event was graced by top-notch performances from some of Ghana’s finest and most talented artistes of all times. Some of the artistes who performed at this year’s VGMA includes; gospel musician Piesie Esther, Joe Mettle, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, King Promise, Kidi, Camidoh and more.

The young star Black Sherif beat out other top contenders such as Piesie Esther, Sarkodie, King Promise, Camidoh, Kidi and Joe Mettle to win the prestigious award.

The young artiste, who rose to fame with his popular hit single “Second Sermon,” has quickly become one of Ghana’s most followed musicians. His unique blend of hip-hop and Afro beats has won him fans across the country and beyond.

It was a moment of joy for the youngster as Black Sherif expressed his gratitude to God upon receiving the award. He also expressed his gratitude to his parents and his fans for their support. He also thanked the VGMA organizers for recognizing his work and giving him the opportunity to showcase his talent on such a big platform.

The artiste also won the Most Popular Song of the year at the same event with his popular hit song ‘’Kwaku the traveller’’. He has also been nominated for several other awards both locally and internationally. The Artiste of the Year award is just the latest in a series of honours that Black Sherif has received in recent months.

The 24th VGMA which saw Black Sherif emerges winner of the VGMA artiste of the year, nominated top talents for this ultimate crown. Some of artistes nominated for this category include Piesie Esther and Joe Mettle who have been performing wonders in the gospel industry in recent times. This shows that the future of Ghana’s music is good hands.
